2022 NFL Fantasy Football Rookie Running Backs Rankings (Pre – NFL Draft)

What’ Goode all you Fantasy Football enthused spirits?!?!?

It’s time to take an inside look at the 2022 NFL Draft Class running backs and their potential NFL landing spots based off of their body of work at the collegiate level.

**Many NFL Analyst view this years’ Running backs lackluster or unexciting to say the least. However, I am always excited to discover those diamonds in the rough in evaluating talent and putting it all together with new opportunities at the next Level in the NFL.**

The OBVIOUS Potential Studs

$$Breece Hall (Iowa State) – Projected landing spots in the NFL = Atlanta Falcons, Buffalo Bills or Houston Texans (Each team are in dire need of an Alpha Player at the position).$$

$$Kenneth Walker (Michigan) – Projected Landing spots in NFL = Philadelphia Eagles (Miles Sanders/Kenneth Gainwell simply underwhelming), NY Jets (Michael Carter is good, but NOT Great), Buffalo Bills (Zac Moss – Need I say More) and Houston Texans (Marlon Mack – Really?) and Seattle Seahawks (Chris Carson uncertainty and R. Penny needs insurance badly).$$

**Tier #2 (Quality Backups in NFL)

**Isaiah Spiller (Texas A&M) – Many analysts view him as too small and too slow for the Running Back position. He tested poorly at the Combine but, his impressive talent displayed on film is quite noteworthy. He is the WildCard of the bunch who , is the epitome of Boom or Bust player at the next level. Potential NFL Homes = Arizona Cardinals (James Connors needs a Edmund Chase type back up)

**Rachaad White (Arizona State) – Mr. White is a Jack of All Trades skilled Running Back. He has smooth route running skills, soft – pass catching hands and good enough speed (4.48 forty) to compliment his 6’02, 210lbs frame. – (Although White is my sneaky #2 Rookie RB for this class, many enthusiasts have him ranked between #4 and #5) Potential NFL Homes = Arizona Cardinals (Connors change of pace RB). Seattle Seahawks (Change of Pace RB) and Kansas City Chiefs (could supplant the lack – luster Clyde Edwards – Ellaire altogether).

**Tyler Allgeir (Brigham Young University) – at 5’10 and 220lbs,he ran a 4.6 forty time at combine has good vision and impressive wiggle ability between the tackles for a husky RB. His natural nose to find the end zone allows him to obtain a goal line role immediately at the next level. Potential NFL landing spot = NO Saints (Alvin Kamara looming suspension could force New Orleans to draft a Pounder to protect Jameis Winston early on in season with Kamars possibly out). Tennessee Titans – Derrick Henry lost D. Foreman and D. Evans in the backfield. Titans need to invest in a decent Back up for the slowly declining Derrick Henry. NY Jets – Michael Carter needs help at the goal line and Tyler specialized in short yardage situation to help the Jets Offense convert on 3rd and short.

**James Cook (Georgia) – Cook is a stud change of pace back and totes the pedigree of a pass catching RB at the next level. He’ll be a solid complimentary piece to any backfield desiring to sustain long drives. Potential Landing Spots in the NFL = Atlanta Falcons, Kansas City Chiefs and Houston Texans. Wild Card Destination = Carolina Panthers.

**Honorable Mentions as either 2- Down Backs or quality Backups**

  1. Brian Robinson (Alabama)
  2. Zamir White (Georgia)
  3. Kyren Williams
  4. Dameon Pierce (Florida)

**All four honorable mentions will definitely be drafted on day 3 or 4 in this years NFL Draft. Each possess decent enough talent to contribute in a committee with a specific Role within their respective offense to provide the Starter RB a breather from time to time and even insurance in the unfortunate event of an injury to the Starter of that Backfield.**

YESSS SIRRRRR!!! Be minful, that each season a dark horse player at most skilled positions surfaces from the depths of the Abyss. This season could be Dameon Pierce. His uncanny great balance and soft pass catching hands put him in the Michael Carter of the Jets mold. We shall see. Stay Tuned everyone.
