WISDOM/VISION/SUCCESS!!!

Hello Beautiful people, it’s that time again to talk Fantasy Football once again. During these upcoming articles, TheGoodeNews will highlight specific Fantasy Football Drafting Strategies (similar to some but, definitely UNIQUE in fantasy culture to the vast majority in the Industry) due to the Upcoming NFL season and time of year where many Fantasy Enthusiast heavily engage in Drafting Fantasy teams for same. The FantasyGoodeSports Brand and its community love the Fantasy Football industry so much, that we live a life of constant research, evaluation of NFL players/situations (on and off the field) and new principles & concepts that shape/change the landscape of the Industry in many forms and fashions. The ultimate foundation of the FantasyGoodeSports Brand, are that we are composed of Savvy Veteran Football (Real life and Fantasy) enthusiasts with decades of fantasy experience that can endorse many facets with our supporters that will prepare and guide you through every phase to drafting/forming/maintaining a very competitive Fantasy Team to start. Then ultimately putting you guys in a most advantageous position to be a top 3 team in many of your leagues. We definitely know the trends of the Industry, we know at the top of our brain (s) the consensus Average Draft Positions (from the Industry’s consensus rankings) and are current on the most popular Fantasy Draft trends in how many drafters target NFL players for the first 20 rounds. That’s right, The FantasyGoodeSports Brand digs deeper than the average Fantasy Football Industry Content Creators of mainly 5 to16 draft rounds. We go an additional four draft rounds (or so) on the evaluation of players to target that are more than merely Dart Throws in the Dark (We unveil at least 3 players that will be on your Fantasy Team’s Bench that will either be a Key Trade piece or League winner player for when, NOT if, NFL injuries, Covid – 19 players, NFL Bye weeks and NFL Player off – the – field issues arise causing some Starters to miss time). So sit back, kick your feet up and receive our information with an open mind because, the concepts and strategies we will provide our supporters ARE NOT like many other Fantasy Brands or Content Creators of Fantasy Football.

To Begin, let’s discuss the different Fantasy Formats greatly used in the Industry at this time.

The Top three formats are = Redraft, Best Ball, Dynasty and IDP (Individual Defensive Players).

Each of the above Formats come with underlying differences that requires drafters and team owners to consider when targeting players to roster (and when to pull the trigger on each). There are various strategies and philosophies which many drafters deploy for each format. Here at FantasyGoodeSports Brand, we are well aware of each and will provide our followers/supporters with distinct and decisive ideologies in the Industry which many enthusiast will keep from their opponents or simply are unaware of themselves.

To explain each Fantasy Football Format, the mindset of Veteran Fantasy Football enthusiast involved in each.

Redraft is the most common format many Fantasy Football players prefer. It requires the least research, strategy and time to put together a decent STARTING LINEUP in most scoring formats. Why? because, the Industry produces so many Consensus Draft Guide tools/articles/contents especially during the months of July and August every year (Pre NFL Season). Many of the tools consist of Fantasy Average Draft Positions (ADP) which many drafters will purchase and choose the best available player while on the clock from a consensus ranking sheet. Why this is safe but, in most instances will not guarantee your team a top 3 placing at season’s end. Many of these ADP rankings consist of a copy & paste style of ranking (s) from the previous NFL season with a few players being moved up or down a few ranked positions to appear to be a newly generated List. During Redraft fantasy drafts, many drafters will be in “WIN NOW MODE” philosophy. They will target well known NFL Studs from yesteryear early and often. Many will disregard a players’ injury history hoping they are fully healed from the previous season. Sure they’ll look for occasional value and bargains during drafting but, the consensus will draft a player strongly based on the last 6 weeks of the previous NFL season (or the projected potential performance of an injured/suspended player during Fantasy Football Playoffs). The first five rounds will be a frenzy to select the well known studs. Then the fantasy draft’s pace will noticeably slow down due to Drafters being unprepared, looking to trade (up or back) or strategizing on how to bounce back from drafting a player they really did not want to draft in the first place.

Uncanny Solutions :

TheGoodeNews Advice during Redraft Formats: First and foremost, conduct your own research and develop your own ADP list. Sure you should obtain at least three popular Draft guides that the industry has been endorsing for years. Bracket those guides for every 10 players (regardless of position). Label each bracket by numerical sequence (ex. 1,2,3 etc). Allow this to simulate Fantasy Draft rounds on your mental board. I like to bracket anywhere from 10 to 15 players for each round as I develop my own ADP in order to remain flexible for 10 team up to 14 team Fantasy Football leagues. This method will allow a strategist to see on a Now – Marginalized board how the vast majority within the Industry rank the NFL players from a fantasy standpoint. Next step, listen to, and or read FantasyGoodeSports social media content and TheGoodeNews Shockers to learn of some Cutting Edge highlights and evaluations on NFL players many fantasy enthusiast are overlooking (multiple updated ADP rankings will greatly dictate this). You should only execute the next process after becoming familiarized with FantasyGoodeSports and TheGoodeNews players discussed and labeled as Sleepers/Hybrids/Shockers this season. I strongly suggest to research our annotated NFL players under the already mentioned tags and draw your own opinion of each player and move them accordingly to whichever tier you see fit for your own liking. I can tell you from experience, there is nothing worse than drafting a Fantasy team of players you clearly do not believe in or like their skill set. For example, Tom Brady is a very serviceable Quarterback for real life purposes and even Fantasy stats alike. But, he simply does not run or scramble for a great deal of yardage nor, score many rushing touchdowns to get excited about drafting as a top 8 fantasy QB (even though he usually will end up as a top 10 QB). More often than not, many drafters will target the Dual – Threat QBs that can run the football well and pass good enough to provide their fantasy team with higher ceiling upside for fantasy purposes and an entertaining skill set for owners to enjoy during game time as well such as, Patrick Mahomes, Josh Allen, Justin Herbert, Lamar Jackson, Kyler Murray, Russell Wilson, Jalen Hurts and Deshaun Watson. (Trey Lance too—SHHHHH!) So, the point is to target your own players pre – Fantasy Draft but, be mindful of the Sleepers and Shockers our Brand discusses in order to allow yourself to put some deep rooted biases aside in order to pick the best player to make the ultimate difference for your Fantasy team and to cut your time spent on research almost in half.

Let’s get back on track to strategies during Fantasy Drafting instead of specific NFL players. The most underrated technique to preparing for any draft is knowing your opponents/league mates and how they value certain players and NFL teams alike. For example, pinpoint your novices in the league. Be familiar with the savvy fantasy gurus of the bunch as well (at least 4 years of competing in fantasy). Try to gain the knowledge of which NFL teams that each league owner is a Die – Hard Fan of. For instance, know that Dallas Cowboys’ fan and what round a stud player such as Dak Prescott may fall during Fantasy drafts, or that Cleveland Browns’ fan that will targeting Nick Chubb at the back end of Round #2 or start of Round #3. If possible find out what fantasy football tools they rely on for pertinent information such as Which Fantasy Rankings or Player Trade Calculators they use. The most popular method in investigating your league mates is to join/create a fantasy Discord website. Or, one can even merely establish a Fantasy League Group Chat to narrow the conversation to just the members in each league. Although, these methods appear to be common features to the Savvy Fantasy Veteran, but even they (WE) know the great Value that each possess. One way to determine the landscape of your particular league is to engage in active conversations that illicit open – ended line of questions. Encourage league mates to discuss their personal views on The Sport of Football, their favorite NFL players and the history each have when it comes to playing Fantasy Sports. Next step is crucial and a bit tricky; share some personal information about yourself that is off the topic of Fantasy Sports. Encourage your league mates to do the same. Begin to gain the trust of each league mate. Many will remain quiet out of a natural desire to remain neutral and strive to remain focused on the mission at hand : to win the Fantasy league by obtaining great targeted NFL players (easier SAID, Than DONE!)

Step #2

Be PATIENT!!!

After you develop a clearer understanding of the views and experiences of your league mates, become extremely familiar with your leagues Rules and Scoring formats. Don’t take for granted that every Fantasy League you participate in Rules will be closely linked in Bylaws. You’d be surprised at how League Winning players unfold in one league but, not the other due to the difference in the scoring format. For example, in a Tight End Premium Scoring format league players such as, Travis Kelce, Mark Andrews and sometimes Darren Waller/Kyle Pitts will hold much higher value in those types of leagues and will have to be targeted extremely early (top 3 draft rounds) in order to obtain their services for the upcoming season. However, in a Standard Scoring or even Half PPR scoring format, the previous mentioned Tight Ends can be had later due to their value dropping due to format (Rounds 4 to 6 to be targeted). Next, Learn of any trade rules within the league. Be careful, some leagues do not allow trading and only waiver wire services to obtain different players than drafted. Take nothing for granted prior to Fantasy Draft day. Listen to and take key notes be it, Mental or in writing from the FantasyGoodeSports and TheGoodeNews contents in establishing your Fantasy sleepers/shockers from Draft rounds #5 through #20. As noted earlier, the first 5 Fantasy Draft rounds will be self explanatory and should flow easily according to any realist ADP product out there. Many Fantasy enthusiast are questionable drafters after round #8 and if you follow the aforementioned suggestions of this article along with the Cutting Edge FantasyGoodeSports philosophy YOU WILL CLOSE THE GAP and OR SEPARATE from the pack (in a positive fashion to benefit your team). Trust, not many drafters have the FantasyGoodeSports eye for talent, superior research/preparation or PASSION in this industry to accomplish what we have in the vast majority of our competitive Fantasy Football Leagues over the past 20 years (Collectively albeity).

Quick Tips!!!

Refrain from consuming Alcohol while drafting or shortly before making a selection (at least 2 hours of sobriety) during Slow Drafts.

On Fantasy Draft day you want to be operating on all 8 cylinders both mentally and physically. You don’t want you mind and thinking process to be impaired in any fashion Consumption of alcoholic beverages (even socially), is the quickest way to accomplish exactly that. In the event that you’re invited to a central location to conduct the League’s Fantasy Draft, possess the inner strength to refrain from drinking any alcoholic beverages during the draft. Fill your cup up with a tan or brown colored liquid that does not have alcohol in it and sip slowly on same as if it were a good quality Whiskey, Brandy or Tequila beverage (no ice if asked). You don’t want to be a party pooper, so do not discourage other league mates from socially engaging in whichever method they choose during the draft. Stay Focused on your research and upcoming time on the Fantasy Draft clock. Never underestimate how as little as only 8 ounces of an alcoholic beverage can affect you in an adverse manner during the draft. Whether it be a simple mistake on your behalf by talking too much in revealing your draft strategy for the upcoming draft round, displaying your draft notes for league mates to read or getting too confident prematurely during the draft, due to False Courage setting in. Every draft round counts. Remember to remain focused on the draft especially after you have drafted a strong Starting Lineup…..IT AIN’T OVER, TIL IT’S OVER!! Keep in mind that the average Fantasy Draft where league mates receive 90 seconds to select a player, can last up to three hours (especially if Commissioner stops the clock for either technical difficulties or League Mate errors). I have personally experienced a few times of thinking I had the League in the Bag after drafting what I believed to be an outstanding Starting Lineup and failed to take into account injuries to any of my starters just drafted to my team throughout the NFL season. YES!!! BENCH drafted players (Quality Depth players) will come into play throughout the long NFL’s brutal season. You have to be sure to draft a few of the FantasyGoodeSports Sleepers and TheGoodeNews Shockers alike in order to put your team over the top to make a strong Push for the Fantasy Title.

This is the start of some underrated fantasy drafting advice for Winning your leagues. I simply cannot put over 20 years of Fantasy experience into one article (or Book). So with that being said, I invite you supporters and followers alike to read the upcoming articles of TheGoodeNews created by PrettyRichie and continue to listen in to Fantasy Guru and Cutting Edge Content Creator of FantasyGoodeSports Founder, Terry Goode on various social media websites such as YouTube, Twitter, TikTok and so forth.
