TheGoodeNews (2022 Fantasy Football Rookie DARK HORSES).

By: PrettyRichie

What’s Goode everyone in the Fantasy World?!?!?! We, at the FantasyGoodeSports community have already discussed the incoming 2022 Rookie Class and how their NFL Draft Capital, new situation (s) within the teams that selected them and how their skill set (s) will potentially dictate their value in Fantasy Football. There are many more circumstances when determining Players’ fantasy value besides the three heavy hitters previously mentioned. TheGoodeNews will share those later down the line. (so stay tuned!) For now, we would like to delve into the 2022 Rookies that were drafted a little on the late side in the NFL Draft but, could definitely emerge as Fantasy Great contributors or even LEAGUE WINNERS due to how late in fantasy drafts they’ll be projected to be selected/targeted. Most Fantasy Footballers call players such as these, DARK HORSES!

**First up is Brian Robinson, RB at pick #98 to the Commanders was an head scratcher for many in the fantasy community, Sure, all NFL teams need quality depth at each position but not many Redraft Owners of Fantasy desire to invest in a Quality RB that needs probably two key injuries to occur (Mckissic/A. Gibson) in order to get serious looks from the Coaching Staff to consider putting in the starting line – up. Robinson’s Fantasy situation is not ideal for any owners to draft in the mid to late rounds of any Redraft leagues but, in Dynasty formats an Antonio Gibson or J.D. Mckissic owner could target Brian Robinson late (not too late, but later) for insurance if the starter goes down with injury. He projects to be more of a short yardage player to keep the starters fresh and chains moving on offense at best to begin his career with the Commanders.

**David Bell, WR to Cleveland at selection #99 was a decent pick for both Real and Fantasy life purposes. Bell provides the Brown’s Franchise with a quality target for Deshaun Watson after loosing Jarvis Landry. Bell is my favorite Dark Horse from a Dynasty Fantasy Football position. He has good size (as discussed in previous GoodeNews articles) and has great after the catch capabilities to compliment Deshaun Watson’s talents as Shot Caller. He could develop into a very good WR3 with exceptional WR2 upside if things fall right for him. I personally will be targeting Bell to draft in late rounds of Redraft formats and middle rounds of Dynasty start – up leagues in the event I deploy a heavy RB approach to building my team. Again, David Bell is my favorite Dark Horse this season and moving forward. He just cracked the top 100 NFL Draft picks and that is valuable in conducting trades in fantasy football as well (unless the Buyer of Bell is unreasonable).

**Jeremy Ruckert, TE of the New York Jets picked at #101 is a big disappointment (not a waste) but, a disappointment from a Fantasy perspective. Tight Ends already is a position that takes at least 2 to 3 seasons to groom at the next level. Jets recently obtained two other serviceable Tight Ends in (C.J. Uzomah and Tyler Conklin) that are veterans at this. This is a bad spot for Ruckert to land from a fantasy perspective because, he will not see the field enough to produce any fantasy points anytime soon (at least 2 years if everything falls right his way). For real life purposes, he’ll get to learn the nuances of the position from decent veterans and grow a report with young talented gunslinger style of play QB Zac Wilson. Fantasy owners can draft Ruckert late in any format, but a lot of patience and hope will be the key ingredients to holding such a player.

**IDP Sleeper alert – Channing Tindall, LB selected at #102 by Dolphins is a complete Steal of the 2022 NFL Draft. He immediately fills a voided need for Miami and he possesses all the tools of an Rangy Athlete with stupendous speed and quickness on the defensive side of the ball. He should start immediately for this Franchise and produce great fantasy stats for any IDP fantasy owner for years to come. Target him in the mid to late rounds of any Dynasty Fantasy Football Start – Up league and for Redraft – IDP formats nab him at the bottom of the middle rounds by deploying gathering LBs late in comparison to league mates.

NFL PAST TOP 100 Draft Picks (Honorable Mentions – ONLY) BEST BENCH PLAYERS.

**Danny Gray, WR Pick #105 to 49ers is a projected special teams player for real life football.

**Cade Otton, TE at pick #106 to Tampa Bay is an peculiar selection but, may develop into some fantasy value due to the uncertainty at the position for the Buccaneers. Pay attention to his camp situation to determine if any fantasy value is afoot.

**Damon Pierce, RB at pick #107 to the Texans is very, very, very uninspiring. Marlon Mack is atop the depth chart right now. So, best case scenerio for Pierce is to work in tandem with Mack on the Houston Texans for 2022 season. Do I really need to say anymore about this less than ideal situation?!?!? At best, due to projected volume at the position, He could develop into a quality RB4 for fantasy purposes.

**Daniel Bellinger, TE picked at #112 to the Giants leaves him as the only Tight End noteworthy at this time due to his NFL Draft capital. He is still a rookie and New York could nab a veteran at the position moving forward. I simply am uninterested in Danny Dimes and his play as a passer. I am staying clear of this situation, but hopefuls can target him VERY LATE in any draft (just to say they drafted a Tight End).

**Zamir White, RB picked at #122 to Raiders was a what the heck depth selection for Las Vegas. One can see why Vegas is known for gambling as this pick is a mere crap shoot. He is a wait and see candidate to target on waiver wire in Redraft formats in Fantasy. Things have gone awfully wrong in Vegas backfield, if Zamir White is seeing significant snaps in 2022.

**Isaiah Spiller, RB picked at #123 to the Chargers. At glance, he projects to be Austin Ekeler’s back – up. Many say he has a three down skill set. However, Historically Los Angeles has a poor track record in drafting quality RB back ups as of late (Joshua Kelley/Larry Roundtree/Justin Jackson/Gabe Nabers) who whenever were on the field due to an Ekeler injury, underwhelmed from any Fantasy perspective is an understatement. Watch and see the reports out of camp to track/determine his fantasy value. I will allow other hopeful fantasy owners draft him late and capitalize by taking a Veteran #4 at the position instead.

**Pierre Strong, RB selected at #127 to New England was a depth luxury pick at the position. Many injuries to this backfield will have to occur for Strong to be a thing on any level with the veterans ahead of him.

**Both Charlie Kolar, TE – Ravens and Jake Ferguson, RE – Cowboys at #128 and #129 will strictly be backups to the veteran Tight End studs already rostered for each perspective NFL Team. I have no real thoughts on either of these selected rookies other than the decent sleeper NFL Draft Capital that possess at this time.

**Hassan Haskins, RB to Tennessee at pick #131 is a good landing spot for Haskins. Deonte Foreman went to Carolina this off season leaving a vacant spot behind the oft injured Derrcik Henry. He has a shot to get some quality touches on special teams and if Henry gets injured, Hassan could be a Bigger Dark Horse than expected. I like him and his situation for fantasy purposes and all Derrick Henry owners should target him late as insurance.

**Romeo Doubs, WR to Packers at #132 is a good landing spot due to the vacancies at the position in Green Bay. Doubs will be a special teams guy but, be provided ample opportunity to capture a role in this offense utilizing his superior speed to stretch the field for Aaron Rodgers. He is a stash player for fantasy purposes to observe how the situation shakes out during camp.

**At picks #138 and #139 Calvin Austin, WR goes to Steelers, while Isaiah Likely, TE goes to Ravens. Will any of them become a centerpiece to their respective offenses this season? Not LIKELY…. YESSS SIRRR, or should I say, NOOOOO SIRRRR!?!?

***Last, but definitely Not Least, we reognize Sam Howell, QB at #144 going to the Washington Commanders. His NFL Draft Capital suggests in real life that he will compete with Heinickie for the QB2 for Washington. He lands in an corny spot with a Corny Team name such as, the COMMANDERS as well. It will be interesting to see which shot caller is under center once the coaching staff looses it after he throws 10 consecutive passes at wide open receivers shoe laces rather than at their numbers. Heinickie will have something to say about that so, don’t sleep on Heinickie either.

**Dark Horse Sleeper**

**Tyler Allgeir, RB went to Falcons at pick #151. He has a clear shot to RB2 opportunities in Atlanta. If he can’t beat out the likes of (Caleb Huntley/Damien Williams/Qadee Ollison), he would be the biggest disappointment of this dark horse group. The offensive scheme is the same exact format which he excelled at in college (BYU). There really are no excused for Allgeir not to carve out a substantial ROLE in this backfield sooner rather than later. I like him in Fantasy Football valued as a solid RB#4 with upside to an RB#3 by week 8 of the 2022 NFL season. Again, NO EXCUSES.

**Noteable Luxury picks**

**Khalil Shakir, WR for Buffalo at pick #148 and Snoop Conner, RB to Jaguars at #154/ Jerome Ford, RB for Browns at #156/ Montrell Washington, WR to Denver at #162/ Kyle Philips, WR to Titans at #163/ Kyren Williams to Rams at pick #164/ Tyler Chandler, RB to Vikings at #169 will all be battling it out in camp for either, special teams duties, desperate rotational players at their respective positions or vying to make the 53 final roster altogether. Good Luck Gentlemen.
