Helllooo Everyone…What’s Goode?!?! It’s that time, once again to focus the Fantasy Football Community on some more NFL Players that many folks are just plain sleeping on this upcoming 2022 season. Here at FantasyGoodeSports, the Family outweighs merely numbers when it comes to how a player is PROJECTED to perform the upcoming season. Sure, don’t get me wrong, the Science behind calculations of numbers and how they can relate to Fantasy Football definitely has its place and even a significant platform to view same. Here at the FantasyGoodeSports Brand, we look a bit deeper into players by viewing their specific talents and what they have done ON the Grid Iron and how that should relate to not only, Real Life Football but, Fantasy in particular. It boils down to, CAN A PLAYER PLAY within the system he is designated to play?!?! Our belief is when one delves too extensively into Projected numbers alone, you can loose sight of drafting the TALENT of a targeted player during Fantasy Drafting and especially trading that player. I mean, for most of the equation (s) of evaluating a player, it is OBJECTIVE in theory. It is a HUNCH that a person makes by utilizing mainly, Their own EYE test on that player. Yes, that means you are greatly advised to conduct your own research on evaluating players. ONLY utilize recent tools such as Average Draft Postion (ADP) as a guide, not BIBLE! Many wise and experienced Fantasy Football Guru’s know actual NUMBERS, do NOT tell the entire TALE! of a player’s talent, football situation (s), NFL Team’s Coaching Philosophy and the Supporting cast around a player on and OFF the field. So, with that being noted, LET’S Get Into IT Ladies and Gents!!
**Jalen Hurts, QB of the Philadelphia Eagles is one of the most under rated Fantasy Players as of late. I observed this man enter the NFL in 2020 at pick #53 overall. In my most humble opinion, after watching his more than impressive play at the collegiate level (no need to delve into his collegiate accolades) to be passed on by teams such as the Pittsburgh Steelers, Carolina Panthers, Washington Redskins (at the time) and even New York Jets who at the time each needed a Starting Caliber Player at the position for the future at the moment, was a slap in his face. It was obvious at the beginning of his career, that the 2020 Philly Front Office that selected him for some strange reason unbeknownst to me, did NOT believe in him. When he came on the field in week 14 December 08, 2020 as the starter as rookie against the New Orleans Saints, he led the Eagles to a victory in real life..and he did pretty well from a Fantasy Football Standpoint as well. He completed 17 of 30 pass attempts for 167 yards and a touch down while rushing for 106 yards respectively. At that very moment, the Philadelphia Eagles should have capitalized off Hurts’ more than adequate performance and allow him to completely develop as the Signal Caller moving forward. However, there were moments when Carson Wentz was under center for significant offensive snaps making it clear that the Franchise was NOT buying into Jalen Hurts as their future at the QB position. This had many real life fans and the Fantasy Community Confused. Meanwhile, In Buffalo, Josh Allen who many predicted was not an accurate enough passer to be successful at the next level be supported by their General Manager and well (We all know how that is developing from a real life and fantasy perspective). I remember many fantasy Enthusiast voicing or writing about how they were NOT sold on Josh Allens prospectus as an NFL caliber QB. Now everyone is on his ……!! (Same goes for Justin Herbert of the Chargers as well…same storyline as Allen in being initially doubted upon entering the NFL draft labeled as an inaccurate passer, but a punctured lung of the then, Starter, Tyrod Taylor gave him his early shot to excel). Now, I am not saying Jalen Hurts is a Josh Allen or a Justin Herbert, but I definitely believe if Hurts is provided similar opportunities as Each (A supporting Front Office, an Elite Defense, elite receivers he can grow on the field chemistry with and designed running plays for the QB) Hurts will produce similar Numbers moving forward. The new Front Office in Philly seems to be attempting to make it happen for Jalen sooner rather than later, by adding AJ Brown of Tennessee to pair with Slim Reaper. Is the elite play of AJ Brown services enough for Jalen Hurts to make it over the hump into steady fantasy QB1 status in 2022 and beyond?!?! Not to mention, the Philly Defense has slowly but, surely been putting together a respectable Unit (Via the NFL Draft the last seasons) (Love Nkobi Dean at LB) that will be good enough to support the offense very soon in this Division. I say, “ABSOLUTELY!”….Barring significant injury, Jalen Hurts will continue to build the already strong connections with both top Wide Receivers in AJ Brown and Slim Reaper (DeVonta Smith) which he practices with during the Off Season. Jalen has all the tools to be the QB6 through QB10 on a weekly basis in 2022. He is an elite runner and a good enough passer at the NFL level (Not every QB is as accurate as a Patrick Mahomes, Tom Brady Aaron Rodgers or Joe Burrow). However, as Jalen Hurts continues to grow under a new Philadelphia’s coaching culture/philosophy. Hurts will quiet many Doubters in the fantasy community moving forward. When he excels in 2022, I’m certain you’ll hear the original haters/doubters say things along the lines of ,”Oh, it’s about time he excelled! or, Jalen has AJ Brown now, so he should be great now, or Jalen Hurts plays in a weak NFL division and has an easy NFL schedule!” Yes, EXCUSES will be the theme behind Jalen’s Great success in 2022. So sit back, kick your feet up and watch this talented QB show you what he can do when a franchise finally commits to a Player and UNLEASHES the talent that Mr. Hurts has been blessed with. I advise Fantasy Drafters to target Jalen Hurts in rounds 5 through 7 after you see the likes of Deshaun Watson (Cleveland Browns), Lamar Jackson (Baltimore Ravens) and Russell Wilson (Denver Broncos) get selected.
Jalen Hurts Prediction for 2022 (From a Goode Point of View) = 4,122 passing yards/989 rushing yard with 32 total touch downs. Fantasy QB#6.
**Yessss, Devin Singletary, RB for the Buffalo Bills performed splendidly the last six weeks of the 2021 season. Up to that point since his selection into the NFL in 2019 at #74 overall, Devin was to a large extent a rotational Running Back with other plodding Backs in comparison to his running style. Singletary is big enough at 5’7 and 203lbs to earn 15 touches per NFL game. His elusive rating is top 5 at the position. He only stands at 5’7 which has viewers wrongfully peg him as not equipped to succeed at the NFL level. However, his body of work on the NFL Grid Iron suggests and proven otherwise. The last 6 weeks of 2021 are a respectable Highlight Reel of Devin as he shows off his well – above average pass catching and route running abilities out of the Backfield. Mr. Singletary gained more opportunities within the system due to sustained injuries to the other running backs on the roster. He also lost important goal line touches to heavier RB Zac Moss as part of the Offensive Scheme of the Buffalo’s Offense. Not to mention, QB Josh Allen loves to run for short to intermediate touch downs in his own right. All three situations makes Devin Singletary not to be such a popular target on Fantasy Draft days. I am here to tell you, that Devin should be a top RB target for ZERO – RB drafting strategy methods in 2022. Yeah, Yeah , Yeahhh! I know James Cook was just drafted to Buffalo in 2022 at pick #63 overall. Cook’s respectable NFL Draft Capital does suggest That the Buffalo Bills Front Office have primary plans for him within their offense. However, Devin Singletary is considered a Veteran in the NFL and is still only the ripe age of 24. Mr. Singletary is Healthy at this point and is greatly motivated of the early addition of James Cook. Devin knows the NFL playbook for Buffalo, has become a reliable piece for the offense due to his dual – threat abilities to catch passes and run between the tackles, and pass block for Allen. On top of that, Devin has performed well enough to remain a reliable utility piece for the Bills. Barring significant injury to Devin, his services will be called upon moving forward… If not with Buffalo, another NFL team would love to trade for the Young talented player. Sure James Cook will garner touches in any backfield he joins due to his talented skill -set as well. Let’s remember, currently in the NFL their are only a handful of Featured RBs that receive 20 to 25 touches week in and week out. Over half of them hold up all season and eventually get injured. The remaining NFL teams deploy some sort of committee approach which gives each Running Backs significant enough touches to be productive enough to provide RB2 stats with upside in the Fantasy Football World. So, in other words if you do not draft (Jonathan Taylor, Colts – Najee Harris, Steelers, Derrick Henry, Titans – Christian McCafferty, Panthers or Dalvin Cook, Vikings in 2022) the other Running backs will be in some sort of Committee anyways. Albeit, a good number of the remaining backs will receive the greater split (60/40) in comparison to their team mates, but a committee is a Time Share. This why research on ones own merit is strongly advised. However, make no mistake about it!
Devin Singletary projections in 2022 (From a Goode Point of View) – 854 rushing yards/45 receptions with another 300 yards and 12 total touchdowns. Fantasy RB34.
**Courtland Sutton, WR for Denver Broncos is an absolute beast at the position. He is an entire season removed from season ending injury on September 21, 2020. He was excelling with the likes of Teddy Bridgewater and Drew Lock as the Shot – Callers for the Broncos during his early development in his NFL career. His separation and route running ability was clearly apparent versus his NFL competition as he snagged considerable contested passes and he as a natural nose for the endzone diving desperately into same when 10 yards away from the pile on. Jerry Jeudy is on the other side of the offense which forms a very formidable Receiving Core for the Broncos. Both are young, athletic freaks, fast and has caught passes out of this stratosphere with sub par Quarterback play as previously mentioned( due to poor passing). Many enthusiast, want to see Jerry Jeudy be THAT GUY! Again, I believe it’s due to how well Jeudy performed at the collegiate level. I mean Jeudy did dominate at that level and played in a conference which was highly televised on a National level competing with NCAA Power House Football Program, Alabama University compared to where Sutton played in college, SMU. So, the BIG NAME here is Jerry Jeudy. However, PrettyRichie and Terry Goode FantasyGoodeSports Brand/community is here to put emphasis on what we evaluate as two equally talented prospects at the Wide Receiver Position. So, with that being said, many NFL opposing teams will defensively scheme against Jeudy with added attention/coverage leveraged towards Jerry in a strong attempt to thwart the Broncos Passing attack. This is where, Courtland Sutton will capitalize off of his GOD – Given – Abilities as a receiver to often secure well thrown passes from the NOW Legendary QB Russell Wilson as Signal Caller. The Fantasy Football Community is well aware what Russell Wilson brings to the table at the QB position in comparison to what Denver has put under center since The Great Peyton Manning. The Denver Broncos have quietly put together a Championship Caliber Football team on both sides of the ball. Mile High stadium and it’s well known THIN AIR environment for opposing NFL teams, will benefit from the newly acquired Pro Bowl QB in Wilson, a great running game/offensive line and under rated wide receiver corp with Jeudy and Sutton atop the depth chart. Sutton will significantly outproduce his current Fantasy ADP of #36 to even #40. Courtland will be a consistent WR#2 all year for 2022. TRUST…The flashes for Sutton to succeed at a high level from a Fantasy perspective prior to his improved football situation with a better QB, full bill of health and adequate supporting cast makes Sutton a sneaky Lottery Ticket as their late WR2 fantasy selection. Courtland has always been a talented fantasy asset for any sincere evaluator of the game.
Courtland Sutton’s 2022 Fantasy Prediction (From a Goode Point of View) = 89 receptions – 1,238 receiving yards and 8 to 11 touchdowns. Fantasy WR#19 to WR#26.
Evan Engram, TE of the Now Jacksonville Jaguars… Since the day Evan Engram was initially selected in the NFL Draft by the New York Giant in 2017 at #23 overall, many real life and fantasy fans possessed high expectations for the 6’3/240lb frame athletic Tight End that naturally created mismatches vs opposing Line Backers due to his well – above average route running abilities and 4.42 forty time. He has displayed at the NFL level that he can be a reliable target for any Shot Caller for the offense, as he won consistent contested passes in the end zone or over the middle of the formation. In New York, The Giants have been historically known to cap the ceiling of many talented NFL players from both real life and fantasy standpoints. Let’s be Real here (unbiased)… The last time The New York Giants produced any elite players were Hakeem Nicks, WR, Ahmad Bradshaw, RB, Tekee Barber, RB, Eli Manning, QB (every 3 weeks he’d go off) and maybe Sterling Shephard, WR due to PPR production as a WR3(at best). Evan Engram never blossomed or reached his full potential due to the subpar NFL team of the NY Giants inability to simply get better during the NFL Draft. Poor Saquan Barkley is completely ruined from a fantasy standpoint due to severely getting injured the past 24 months of his career playing in The Big Apple. He went from an Fantasy RB1 overall to a hopeful Fantasy RB9 to RB12 within just 2 seasons which, looks very gloomy for him due to the teams subpar culture to get better each season. Now the Giants loose another foundational piece on offense in Evan Engram, as he takes his services to Jacksonville to be paired with a young talented QB in, Trevor Lawrence. Lawrence doe not possess elite talent at his disposal at the Receiver position in only (Christian Kirk, Aging Marvin Jones, unknown Zay Jones and Tight End Dan Darnold). With that being said, Evan Engram has a lucrative fantasy opportunity to receive the best quality targets that he has ever had since his collegiate days at Ole Miss. Trevor Lawrence is a natural competitor and is used to winning (At least in College). He will take chances and pepper Engram with ample enough targets to make Evan a sneaky reliable back end TE1 in 2022 and beyond due to his tender age of 27 for the position. He will finally live up to his collegiate Hype entering the NFL draft and execute well as a late round Fantasy selection at the position.
Evan Engram 2022 Prediction (from a Goode Point of view) = 75 receptions/835 receiving yards/7 to 10 touchdowns.
