What’s GOODE guys?!?! It’s that time once again for another FantasyGoodeSports article here at TheGoodeNews. Again, here at the FantasyGoodeSports community, Founder Terry Goode and a select Other Fantasy Football Enthusiast utilize decades of experience within the Fantasy Football Industry to provide followers of this Cutting Edge Brand, some extensive insight into several players on NFL teams that many Fantasy Analyst are unaware of or under valuing immensely. We examine/highlight players to target just before your final STARTING Fantasy Lineup is accounted for during your personal drafts that many of your league – mates will overlook for various reasons such as, not being updated/prepared, being a victim of recent breaking real life news bias and or, simply going along with the consensus Average Draft Positions Kits desperately circulating throughout social media algorithms that will be on sale during the Summer months each season. For decades, I have observed many Fantasy Football Content Creators of Draft Guides and Social Media Podcast Brands engage in Fantasy Football MOCK DRAFTS leading up to every NFL season. However, most only engage in the first five (5) rounds, stop and then conduct another Mock Draft at a different Draft position for another (5) rounds of drafting. This is a very over rated and even Ancient form of preparing for your Fantasy Football Drafts. Why?, you ask! Because, most Fantasy Enthusiast (EVEN BEGINNERS) are aware of the Big Name NFL Players and utilized similar consensus Draft Guides to assist them in pulling the trigger on a player to roster that early in any draft. THAT IS EASY…TOO EASY! So much more meat is left on the bone (s) during the later rounds of any Fantasy Football Draft every season. Sure, with a little research the average Fantasy Football Enthusiast will be able to peg 2 to 3 NFL players that the industry is sleeping on and will bench/target that player in the late draft rounds. However, here at FantasyGoodeSports our Team will discover at least 15 to 20 players every season that will be potential Lottery Tickets (figure of speech) or League winners for whichever Fantasy Owner is willing to target later than most and bench at least 3 to 5 of our selected players. Our players will be much more than merely Dart Throws or reaches. YES, I said it! You don’t even have to start all of our Fantasy Shockers either because, by them being on your roster (bench), you are playing keep – away from your League Mates as well. Or, our select players will also make for great trade bait for WIN – NOW mode Fantasy owners as well. So, cop – a – squat, kick your feet up and allow the words of TheGoodeNews activate some light bulbs in that Thinking Cap of all its Readers and followers alike.

Rashaad Penny, when healthy performs smoother than HENNY!!

*THE GOODE**

Rashaad Penny, RB of Seattle Seahawks entered the NFL by being drafted by the Seahawks in 2018 at selection #27 overall in the first round. He averaged 7.5 yards per carry running for San Diego Aztecs during his collegiate career. At the 2018 NFL Combine he performed well – above average while clocking a 4.46 forty yard dash time boasting great explosion as a runner. He never was highly regarded as a pass catching running back, but is definitely serviceable in that area as well recording 8 receptions for 83yards in 2019. The down side with Penny is he is not the prime example of durability at the position. He was often injured and unable to suit up on Game Days. Rashaad Penny has sustained major injuries such as ACL tears to minor ones such a soft tissue ailments as hamstring pulls/tears since his induction into the NFL. Penny has only played 37 NFL games out of 65 and only started 6 games (all six games started by Rashaad performed the final season of 2021) due to injury. So, it is well documented that Mr. Penny has not been the ideal of good health for any Fantasy Football owner since entering the league as an NFL First round draft pick. His high NFL Draft capital encouraged many Fantasy Drafters to invest high fantasy draft capital in him as well, especially in the Dynasty community where he on average was a top 6 overall selection in 2018 Rookie drafts. Having to place such a highly drafted fantasy player on injured reserved section or on the Bench of an active Fantasy roster is always a bummer and can be challenging to replace that expected performance in relation to generating fantasy points at that player’s respective position.

With that being said, It is easy for many to either write off Rashaad Penny or even decide to not Draft him due to his injury history. I am here to tell you not to do neither. The FantasyGoodeSports community believes that if Penny stays Healthy through at least 12 games each season for the following 2, He will be a top Fantasy producer at the Flex position for owners that take him in rounds 6 through 9 (Pending Draft flow) as their third Running Back/Flex on their team. We’re not saying Mr. Penny is worlds ahead of newly drafted Rookie Kenneth Walker as far as talent goes. But, we are ringing the bell on our belief that Rashaad is just as talented as Walker (When Healthy albeit). This is essentially a Contract Year for Penny as well. He will be playing with a chip on his shoulder to prove he is worth the NFL first round talent Seattle spent on him in 2018. The last 6 NFL games of the 2021 season, Rashaad Penny finished as the RB 4 to 6 (depending scoring format). Yes, he finished as a strong RB1 the final 6 games of the season. He has the physical ability/talent and now he should be provided the opportunity (even with Walker in town) to help catapult many Fantasy Football Finalist to a Championship provided Penny is a Flex player you draft mid to later rounds or trade for wisely.

**Projected 2022 stats for Rashaad Penny = 1,139 rushing yards/43 receptions for 313 receiving yards/9 total touchdowns.**

**THE BAD**
(Great Player, Bad situation)!

**Kadarius Toney, WR of the New York Giants showed immense talent since being selected by the Giants in 2021 at selection #20 overall. As a rookie he did not play to his full potential during games during the 2021 NFL Season as we fans would had liked him to due, to sustaining an knee injury. The knee injury, Toney’s Rookie status, Lackluster QB play and an offense having an identity crisis all played a role in hampering Kadarius Toney’s first NFL season exposure and development as a young player. Mr. Toney had a Coming – Out party performance in 2021, October 10th with 10 receptions for 189 receiving yards versus the Dallas Cowboys. His BEAST – potential from a real life and fantasy football standpoint was at an all time high. It is clear that, if Toney can produce to such a high level with his subpar NFL team’s situation just imagine if New York puts some things together and takes a much needed step in the right direction to finally compete for a Divisional crown. Yes, it’s going to take for Daniel Jones (Danny Dimes) to live up to his high NFL Draft Capital as well (2019 #6 overall pick by Giants). The supporting cast offensively has to STAY HEALTHY as well. Saquan Barkley simply has not been the dominant Running back since his injuries hindered him since his ACL tear in week 2 of 2020 season vs. the Chicago Bears. The supporting cast of Giant’s wide receiving core also shared their share of injuries as well Kenny Golladay and Sterling Shepard each missed meaningful time due to sustained injuries as well. This fact slowed Danny Dimes’ development at the next level. On the flip side of that, Danny had to develop timing and chemistry with Kadarius during critical practice time. That rapport should carry over into the upcoming NFL season. In addition to the strong chemistry between Danny Dimes and Toney, the Giants have traded Tight End, Evan Engram to the Jacksonville Jaguars for the 2022 season and beyond. This leaves 73 targets to divide between any Healthy Giant Wide receiver. We have a strong Hunch Mr. Toney becomes the recipient of at least 30 to 35 of those now vacated targets due to his ability to create separation during route running and may even be designed running plays as well. Opposing defenses will have to account for a now healthy, Saquan Barkley, Kenny Golladay and Sterling Shepard. This fact coupled with the prediction that, Danny Dimes takes a considerable step forward in his professional development as a Quarterback in the NFL each provide prime opportunities for Kadarius to capitalize off of his Elite talent at his respective NFL position. Let’s not forget, Kadarius has been known to receive the ball on designed end – around sweeps hand offs as a runner as well. His elite speed (4.39 forty time) will find him adequate success as well when he turns the corner on those sweep plays adding Deebo – Like value to the young stud as well. So, with that being said, not many enthusiast are mentioning Kadarius Toney as a potential fantasy league winner during the publication of this article. Kadarius Toney, if targeted and drafted at the most valuable position in any Fantasy Draft will contribute greatly to any Fantasy Football playoff bound team as their WR3 or Flex player in a PPR scoring format during rounds 7 through rounds 9.

**2022 Projected stats = 79 reception/889 receiving yards & 339 rushing yards with 11 total touchdowns**

**The Ugly**
Quarterback that many fail to target first**

Derek Carr, QB of the Las Vegas Raiders has a new Elite weapon in town. Davante Adams formerly of the Green Bay Packers, will elevate Carr into consistent Elite status from a real life and finally Fantasy standpoint in 2022 and beyond. Historically, Carr has been a wise choice for savvy Fantasy Drafters to target late as their second Fantasy Quarterback. He was appreciated for his solid floor he provided if sprung into action as a Bye – week replacement or injury to that owner’s Starting QB. Derek Carr has produced enough on the real grid iron, which often translated to decent enough stats from a Fantasy standpoint to keep its team owner abreast at the QB position. He would never hurt your fantasy team, but rarely would Carr deliver a Week Winning performance either. However, everything changes in life. That change has come full circle when it comes to Derek Carr’s Football situation as well. Derek Carr can be targeted as a Starting Fantasy Option now. For starters, Carr is getting his Stud Tight End in Darren Waller back healthy to open the 2022 NFL season. Those of us that live in the Fantasy Football realm appreciate the talent which Waller has provided over the last three seasons as he finished each season, strongly as a TE#1 respectively in PPR and even standard scoring formats. Darren Waller is currently ranked as a top 5 Fantasy option at the Tight End position, so expectations remain high within the fantasy domain for many analyst alike. In addition to Elite talent as a pass catching option at the tight end position, the 2019 NFL 5th round pick (#149th overall) by the Raiders Wide Receiver Hunter Renfrow has arrived in an impressive way as well from a real life and fantasy point. In 2021, Renfrow stepped up admirably to provide Carr with a consistent receiving target to move the chains on important 3rd down situations with undeniable route – running and Sticky soft hands during games. The chemistry between Renfrow and Carr is as reliable as any top ranked NFL passer/catcher tandem to date. Hunter caught 103 passes for 1,038 receiving yards and 9 touchdowns for Derek Carr in 2021. Yes, Darren Waller and pass catching running back, Kenyan Drake were injured for a considerable amount of time during the season. Sure, this did provide Renfrow with added opportunities within the Raiders Offense due to these key injuries but, he did capitalize off the moment and developed into a fine Fantasy WR3 or respectable PPR FLEX play. Now, the Raiders has acquired the elite play-making services of Davante Adams from the Packers. I have no clue, how in the world the Green Bay Packers allowed the Raiders to get their number one receiving option of the Future Hall of Famer QB Aaron Rodgers at this juncture in his illustrious career and the Packers 4 – year hunt to Capture the Super Bowl Title. (That is another mystery/story for another article altogether). Let’s make no mistake about it everyone, Derek Carr is no Aaron Rodgers from a talent standpoint. However, many forget that Derek Carr and Davante Adams formed a dynamic duo at the collegiate level (Fresno State) and still possess the FBS record for passing/receiving touchdowns as a tandem (39 touchdowns for 3,037yards for the 2012 -2013 seasons). So with that being said, it is more than safe to say, the Football Chemistry between the two has the potential to special. Derek Carr and D. Adams are young, but Veterans at the NFL level. This fact along with, the supporting cast of a very solidly established Raiders Defense, stud pass catchers returning to full health, the emergence of Hunter Renfrow, a respectable offensive line, a good (not great) running back room and the Elite addition of Davante Adams may be the exact ingredients that will catapult Derek Carr into a consistent QB1 option at the position for fantasy purposes. Be that as it may! I warn drafters to Be careful, not to wait too in targeting Carr during Fantasy Drafts moving forward from the date of this publication. Some Fantasy enthusiast will snipe Carr at least one to two rounds than he has historically been taken. So, do your own research and try to be familiar with your leaguemates to determine when you’ll target Carr(always have a plan B as well – Zac Wilson, QB of the NY Jets! to be addressed in TheGoodeNews in upcoming months)! Yes I said IT! Derek Carr will be a consistent QB10 to QB13 every week he steps on the field in 2022.

**2022 projected stats for Derek Carr = 4,622 passing yards/34 passing touchdowns/2 rushing touchdowns**
