The Goode News (Rookie WR Pre – Draft 2022) Part I

By : PrettyRichie

What’s Goode everybody!?!? We have come to another juncture in the Fantasy Football landscape to discuss the 2022 Rookie Wide Receivers and their potential Landing Spots in the NFL and how it can translate statistically…(and we know, what we Fantasy Footballers do with Stats!!! SHHHH).

This 2022 Rookie Class possesses so many good (not GREAT) Pass Catchers. With that being said, I’ll break this article in two parts as not to bore any readers of this content.

Yessss Sirrrr!!

PART I

Let’s Begin with the TOP TRIO (3) WR Studs (Interchangeable)

**Drake London (USC) – He is a great Contested Catcher and should win at the high point of most passes at the next level. He has a large wing – span radius at 6’02 and 210lbs with great ball tracking/leaping ability. Reminds some enthusiasts as Michael Thomas (Big Slot WR) of New Orleans Saints. he is undisputedly a top two rookie wide receiver this year.

**Treylon Burks (Arkansas) – He possesses elite after – the – catch abilities on film. He is NFL landing spot dependent and that team intends to utilize him in their offense. He is a bit raw and needs some polishing as an overall route runner. He could add a good five pounds of pure muscle to his frame which should not slow his 4.55 forty speed. He has some of the most reliable hands any QB is gonna grow to rely on at the next level.

***Garrett Wilson(Ohio State) – He is my personal favorite Rookie WR in this class. He is a complete player at the position. He can do everything quite well such as, possessing very soft hands that are as reliable as pampers to a baby’s bottom are… Garrett is a superior Route Runner as well. On film he looks Silky Smooth as he strides effortlessly past potential cornerbacks to execute the play either moving the chains or simply scoring a Touchdown. Some may fancy Wilson as a Justin Jefferson of the Minnesota Vikings prototype. Me, I say he has the speed/frame as Slim Shady, toughness as a Deebo Samuels and the reliable hands like a Dionte Johnson of the Pittsburgh Steelers. The only knock on him could be his 185lb frame.

Next UP…Quality WR2s in the making (Time makes Wine better).

**Jahan Dotson (Penn State) – Some think he has the best hands in this year’s class. On film, one can appreciate how he separates from defenders at the second and even third level of the zones. He knows how to find a way to get open and appears to be a natural big play maker and could develop into a fine complimentary piece at the next level. Reminds me of a Speedy Hunter Refrow of Las Vegas Raiders.

**Jameson Williams (Alabama) – DARK HORSE STUD Alert.

Jameson Williams could be the top ranked WR in this class if not for sustaining an Torn ACL. He is very Elite at the position and if fully healed, will develop into the #1 Wide Receiver in this class especially if Aaron Rodgers of Patrick Mahomes get him in their respective Offenses’. Williams possesses the total package on film. He boasts great speed, superior separation from defenders and Baby – Smooth catching hands. He’ll become a primary weapon depending his healing process. Many peg him as a Tyreek Hill Proto – Type now of Miami Dolphins. My hunch is he will be a WR1 by week 7 in 2022. (WR13) if fully recovered from Torn ACL.

**Chris Olave (Ohio State) – He is an outstanding separator of defenders. On film one can appreciate his smooth as butter route running style. He should make it very easy for his NFL QB to place the football most likely for Olave to be successful on any given play. He is amazingly fast posting a 4.36 forty time. One would love to see him gain 5 to 10 pounds to his 6’01 189lbs. frame to endure the NFL Platform. Likely NFL home for New Orleans Saints to compliment Michael Thomas and allow Jameis Winston to be the Natural Gun Slinger he truly is.

SUPER SLEEPER WR (Especially PPR format)

**Skyy Moore (Western Michigan) – Many scouts peg Moore as an Slot Wide Out at the next level. Skyy possesses elite separation from defenders and hands stickier than a old buger on a wall. He is not the largest body for QBs to locate in traffic (5’10) but, he tips the scale at 195lbs. and runs a 4.45 forty yard dash. He reminds me of Wayne Chrebet (New York Jets) super sized. Potential NFL home (s)= Dallas Cowboys, Tenessee Titans or 49ers.

**David Bell (Purdue) – Poor Athletic skills in comparison to the elite in this class. However, he has good size for the WR position (6’02, 212lbs.) His NFL home will greatly dictate his immediate role. He is a larger sized Slot Wr with pretty good hands and created decent separation from the competition on film. Some analyst peg him as a Jarvis Landry proto -type complimentary piece to a true #1 and maybe #2 wide receiver. Potential NFL Landing Spot = Greenbay Packers (who only have Allen Lazard as a real wide out that A.Rod is familiar with).

**George Pickens (Georgia) – He had an outstanding Collegiate Rookie season and has not progressed much since then. He has good size at the position, (6’3 at 195lbs). He does the basics very good. His long strides and precise route running style reminds me of a RAW Larry Fitzgerald of Arizona Cardinals. His hands size 9 3/8 allows him to catch the football effortlessly to compliment his 4.47 40 time. If he can get back to his rookie season in college, he can make fantasy owners feel very lucky.

THE Dart Throws of the bunch

**Justyn Ross (Clemson) – INJURIES, INJURIES INJURIES. Other than that, Ross is a good Downfield stretcher. He possesses good hands though. Reminds me of Henry Ruggs or Desean Jackson type.

**John Mechie (Alabama) – He does everything efficiently as a Wide out. On tape he makes good plays, but lacks the WOW – Factor. He projects to be a complimentary piece to a good NFL system. His best NFL landing spot would be New England Patriots, especially with the connection and familiarity he already has with Mac Jones.

HONORABLE MENTIONS (You Never KNOW) and will be discussed in Part II

Christian Watson (North Dakota State)** Jalen Tolbert (S. Alabama) **Wandale Robinson (Nebraska) **Alec Pierce (Cincinatti) and Khalil Shakir (Boise St.)

**Please not that the above Honorable Mentions each possess very good Football Pedigrees and if an NFL Team can coach the best out of them, they possess the ability to thrive higher than projected by many to being rated mediocre to good. In Part II, the FantasyGoodeSports family will delve deeper in each. Until then, check out Terry Goode on YouTube and become a SUBSCRIBED Member of the channel. Let’s keep this thing going people.
